RECON provides remediation services to assist the utility industry in the management of its environmental liabilities associated with remediation of former (MGP) manufactured gas plants.
In the 1800’s to the mid 1900’s, manufactured gas plants across the U.S. supplied the fuel needed homes and industries. The purification processes conducted at the plants resulted in gas plant residues that included tars, sludges, hydrocarbons, cyanides, sulfates, etc. MGP site remediation is complicated by the presence of both light and dense non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPLs & DNAPLs). These toxins can present contamination issues for the surrounding sediment and surface waters.
RECON has worked on numerous MGP sites and has assisted our customers with the construction of slurry walls, ………more techniques or treatments…….reactive barriers, off-site treatment and in situ stabilization.
RECON strives to create a value to our client that goes far deeper than providing the required services. To learn more about our MGP site remediation services, contact us today to find out how our experience can be your advantage.
