On April 27, 2016, RECON achieved 2,000,000 safe man-hours with zero recordable incidents. This equates to 918 days and almost 30 consecutive months without a recordable injury as well as zero lost time injuries and zero days away from work.
This outstanding achievement is a testament to the collective efforts and hard work of all RECON employees. RECON is tremendously proud of the commitment by all our employees and fully recognizes the time, energy, and efforts that have led to this success.
“I want to acknowledge the craft, the employees on the tools, the front line. They’re the employees that this is all about. We’re celebrating them, their accomplishments, and their achievements,” stated RECON’s President and CEO, Jerry Mason.
To commemorate this milestone, RECON’s CEO and President completed the “Kojak” Safety Challenge by shaving his head! This was one of the many creative ideas that RECON employees were encouraged to submit to keep safety fresh, innovative, and on the forefront of everyone’s mind. Creativity makes a difference and our making safety creative initiative has seen over 25 creative safety ideas from employees implemented throughout the company.
“We have been working throughout the company to increase focus on preventative efforts, recognize and understand risks, and improve our safety culture,” said RECON Senior Vice President of Operations, Danny Brown. “This accomplishment illustrates the commitment our team has to these efforts.”
In recognition of this milestone, each RECON employee received a 32 ounce green Yeti® tumbler with a 2,000,000 safe man-hours commemorative image.
“Safety is an attitude that must be on our minds every day as we perform our tasks,” Mason added. “Because we have made safety our core value, every employee should be proud of this accomplishment.”
