Jerry O. Mason is President and Chief Executive Officer for Remedial Construction Services, L.P. (RECON), a leader in the environmental remediation and geotechnical construction industry with the ability to design and build solutions for clients’ geotechnical, civil, and environmental needs.
With more than 500 employees and a world class resume of projects throughout North America, RECON is an industry leader in services for soil, sludge and CCR in-situ stabilization, site preparation for large capital projects, groundwater controls, support structures, industrial demolition, and landfill cap and cell construction for clients in the energy, power, oil and gas, mining, metals, and chemical industries. RECON has completed over 7,000 projects to date and is consistently ranked among ENR’s top 200 environmental contractors.
Mr. Mason has served as a key RECON leader since joining the company in early 2013 as Chief Operations Officer. He has championed further development of RECON’s large capital project resume, been an instrumental leader in numerous corporate initiatives, refined RECON’s business strategy and has influenced the involvement of every employee into the company’s safety culture. Mr. Mason is approaching 30 years of construction experience within the heavy industrial marketplace, including 16 years of international project assignments. His diversified background includes key leadership roles in engineering, procurement, construction, project management, project controls, estimating, business services, business development, operations and maintenance, and fleet and fleet outsourcing within the oil and gas, life sciences, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to joining RECON, he was Vice President of Operations for the Industrial Process business unit at URS where he was instrumental in the management and integration of the multi-billion dollar acquisition of Flint Energy Services, LTD in 2012. Prior to becoming Vice President of Operations, Mr. Mason was a Program Manager in Perth, Australia. He joined URS after more than 20 years with Fluor and Foster Wheeler.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Mason earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where he was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
