  • Soil remediation, one discipline within the broader scope of environmental remediation, is the process of decontaminating soil. RECON is an industry leader in soil and sludge stabilization and solidification.
  • A secant wall is used in deep foundations in situations where the surface soil layers are unstable.
  • Among the processes used in soil remediation, excavation and dredging are among the most common. The process involves extracting unrecoverable contaminated soil.
  • Secant pile walls are one of the most economical methods of creating effective water control barriers for building structural walls, top-down tunnels and dams.
  • Deep Soil Mixing is a in-situ soil improvement technology used to construct cutoff or retaining walls and to treat contaminated soils.
  • This sludge pond is a good candidate for bio remediation or stabilization.
  • RECON's excavator is capable of digging a slurry wall up to 100 ft deep. Slurry walls have been used for decades to provide cost-effective, long-term solutions for many groundwater control problems.
  • Soil remediation project using remote placement conveyor.
  • Driving concrete pile to strengthen and support structural foundations.
  • Slurry wall construction is used to create non-structural barriers (Cutoff Walls, Slurry Trenches), which are constructed underground to impede groundwater flow.

RECON'S Experience

To date, RECON has completed over 2,500 environmental remediation, geotechnical construction, and civil construction projects. These projects have included the remediation or modification of soil, sediment, sludge, surface water, groundwater, and structures using chemical, biological, and physical means.

Our client base includes industrial, commercial, and governmental clients. Given the competitive nature of the environmental, geotechnical and civil construction markets, it is a testament to RECON's expertise and ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships, that 85 percent of our work is for repeat customers. Using conventional environmental remediation, geotechnical construction, and civil construction methods we have:

  • Stabilized over 6,500,000 cubic yards of sludge, sediment, and soil
  • Constructed over 11,000,000 square feet of slurry trenches
  • Installed over 9,000,000 linear feet of wick drains
  • Constructed over 30 groundwater and wastewater treatment systems
  • Treated over 30,000 gallons of hazardous liquids
  • Moved over 7,000,000 cubic yards of earth
  • Constructed 15 landfill cells
  • Constructed 220 acres of landfill caps
  • Worked on 356 Superfund projects
  • Remediated over 275 acres of impoundments
  • Demolished over 250 acres of industrial facilities
  • Completed over $900,000,000 in remediation projects
