Superintendent
Remedial Construction Services, L.P. (RECON) does not have a current opening, however we are accepting resumes for key qualified employees to help us meet our upcoming project needs.
The responsibility of a Superintendent will include, but is not limited to the following:
- Take responsibility for allocating and scheduling resources, site documentation, maintenance and managing personnel to perform their work safely and efficiently from start up to finish
- Work with the job-site Health and Safety Officer to understand and implement the company Behavior Based Safety Program (BBS) and job-site HASP
- Supply pre-project planning input to the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) process and frequent improvements or changes to Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP)
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, when needed, in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life according to all relevant policies and procedures
- Communicate with others by all means possible (visible or radio contact) including interpreting hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed or loaded
- Work independently and conducts tasks with limited supervision
- Report all equipment maintenance issues to Project Manager
- Attends weekly meeting with the RECON Project Manager (PM) and client(s), as directed by the PM
- Assist PM with cost estimates and forecasting
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Ten or more years of supervisory experience
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
- Be available for travel over extended periods of time on short notice
- Have strong supervisory skills, good multitasking, scheduling skills,and solving skills
A Construction Superintendent is a person who is ultimately responsible for the implementation of the project plans, including safety, resources and schedule; oversees the coordination of construction jobs, including the management of site personnel and the quality of their work; ensures that equipment inventories are managed and run efficiently, has oversight of subcontractor activities as well as ensuring that material lead times and procurement are properly scheduled ultimately ensuring that the project concludes on time and within the budget.
