  • Soil remediation, one discipline within the broader scope of environmental remediation, is the process of decontaminating soil. RECON is an industry leader in soil and sludge stabilization and solidification.
  • A secant wall is used in deep foundations in situations where the surface soil layers are unstable.
  • Among the processes used in soil remediation, excavation and dredging are among the most common. The process involves extracting unrecoverable contaminated soil.
  • Secant pile walls are one of the most economical methods of creating effective water control barriers for building structural walls, top-down tunnels and dams.
  • Deep Soil Mixing is a in-situ soil improvement technology used to construct cutoff or retaining walls and to treat contaminated soils.
  • This sludge pond is a good candidate for bio remediation or stabilization.
  • RECON's excavator is capable of digging a slurry wall up to 100 ft deep. Slurry walls have been used for decades to provide cost-effective, long-term solutions for many groundwater control problems.
  • Soil remediation project using remote placement conveyor.
  • Driving concrete pile to strengthen and support structural foundations.
  • Slurry wall construction is used to create non-structural barriers (Cutoff Walls, Slurry Trenches), which are constructed underground to impede groundwater flow.

Jet Grouting

Jet grouting is a general term describing various construction techniques used for ground modification or ground improvement. Grouting contractors use ultra high-pressure fluids or binders that are injected into the soil at controlled velocities. These binders break up the soil structure completely and mix the soil particles in-situ to create a homogeneous mass that solidifies. This ground modification/ground improvement plays an important role in the files of foundation stability, particularly in the treatment of load bearing soils under new and existing buildings; in the in-depth impermeabilization of water bearing soils; in tunnel construction; and to mitigate the movement of impacted soils and groundwater.

Jet Grouting

In order to bridge a gap between installed sheet pile sections of a bulkhead, underneath an operational access way pipe rack, RECON used jet grouting to support the wharf during dredging operations.

Project Features

• Installing the 53-foot long cutoff wall to a depth of 45 feet

• Interconnecting jet grout columns were installed at angles from vertical to 15 degrees under the access way

• Installing forty-eight, 36-inch diameter columns to complete the cutoff wall

• Installing a total fluids hydrocarbon groundwater recovery system in order to extract diesel from the groundwater.
